A noisy park! Has an interstate in back and a highway in front with a ramp between them at the side. Misrepresented in Woodalls as having a laundry. We were directed to a Roanoke laundromat. Park has dirty, rusty water; we flushed until the taste was tolerable. Also had a power failure for several hours. The good points: a level paved site; the Wi-Fi was very good; and they have a cave.

The $36 rate was with KOA discount. The Wifi was very good. I'd recommended for trailers, 5th wheels and tents only. I'd not recommended for motorhomes unless equipped with levelers that can lift 8 inches or more. Gravel roads in woods with mosquitoes.

Charge for internet This was a private campground with possibly 60 sites. We were told that it was sold to a municipal or governmental authority who has undertaken an extremely large expansion. I would guess it is now well over 200 sites and growing. Being in the TN mountains the entire campground is a steep hillside. To expand the campground, there has been added several very large terraces, the most impressive being at least 60 feet wide and 60 feet straight down on the other side of its fence. It also has the only level sites relative to the various sites we tried in all the new areas. New site construction appears to be "eye-ball leveled" and all sloped down hill. The curious thing to me was why the new sites were so short and lacking a place to park a tow or towed vehicle. In our swing through the facilities, every RV we saw was a 5th wheel, trailer or pop-up. Almost all were occupying the original, larger campsites. Our 24 ft motorhome was an oddity. We were told that even some of those older sites had been reworked, made smaller, much more expensive and now lacked parking just like the new sites. Since the clientele appears to be heavily locals who use it campground for their Summer place and because it is so big rig unfriendly, I wonder who they expect will fill all those small, short sites unless the offer two sites for one to provide parking.

Alternate phone (830)734-8251. The choices for me were Hidden Valley and Broke Mill which boiled down to shade, in-town vs. no shade (limestone), in-country. Coming in we saw a nice neighborhood and arrived at the end of Bolner Lane. "hidden" is a good name for the park. Mature trees everywhere. The host tells us that their trailer park has been an RV park for only a little over a year now. She was thrilled that we found them on RVPark Reviews. We are equally thrilled by her reception, by a 100 foot long site completely shaded with a table with table cover, a Webber-type grill, a park bench, paving tile patio, 70 channels of cable TV, 5 bars of Wi-Fi signal plus water, 50 amp electric and sewer. If the site was level I would have rated it a 10.

Pretty basic park but for Passport America price of $20 we used it for an overnight stop on I-10. Other than water and electric the sites were completely unimproved. Just a grass field slanting slightly downhill to the north, so get out the blocks if you do not have levelers. The ground is remarkably hard packed so it was no problem after a soaking rain that day and night.

Based on reviews below, I am writing this review while sitting in site A2 looking out at the beautiful vista of snow caped alpine peaks and sub-alpine glens surrounded by pines and aspens. At the office there are many humming birds, finches, mountain blue jays, magpies and chipmunks. One can sit on the deck and watch them while having lunch or a morning Cappucchino. The site is level. The WiFi works. Evidently the camp is popular because I could only get a 15amp site.

Advisory! The park website is closed. The KOA website no longer lists the Park. Telephone number gives a Fax signal. Conclusion is the park is no longer in existence

Rate paid was for Florida resident, Seniors. If you like fishing, boating, kayaking, surfing, beaching, swimming, cycling, etc. this park is for you. They even have two museums. On the negative side be prepared to do a lot of leveling. Walking around it looks like 4 to 7 inches adjustment was typical. The reports about bugs are very true. The no-see-ums, those dot-sized biting gnats, were everywhere. Because my wife was so badly bitten by them, we left early. On the way out I tried to dump but the dump site, to our disgust, immediately overflowed.

Disappointing place, particularly in contrast to the superb East Glacier KOA where we stayed the next night. Other than water and electric, the site was merely unimproved grass on an undulating slope. Getting a motorhome level was impossible. The internet access equipment was evidently something used for the home with a range of possibly 30 yards. Users had to be in the office or just outside to connect.

Nice park. In a valley out of the wind. Nestled in the trees. The pride of the hosts shows. Everything is neat and clean. The WiFi is quite good. The only thing we could not do is use our cell phones. The camp has received the KOA President's award for four years. Definitely not the usual crowded KOA.
